Combat Mode

Default key: R

Combat Mode toggles between "Exploring" and "Combat mode" (shown above the hotbar, with an iron or leather armour-equip sound). You always start in Exploring when you join a world.

The HUD

Vanilla's hotbar, health, armour, food, air and experience slide down out of view and the Kageborne combat HUD slides up (and back again), over half a second.

The Reticle

The combat reticle (a full cross with four corner brackets) replaces the normal one, and also replaces vanilla's crosshair in first person. When you are aiming at something, the brackets close in by a pixel.

Casting

Jutsu are cast ONLY in Combat Mode. Out of it, right-click works as a normal right-click. The one exception is throwing a held Rasenshuriken.

  • With an empty main hand: right-click uses the selected loadout jutsu (hold to charge). Right-click still works normally on doors, trapdoors, fence gates, buttons, levers, beds, crafting tables and containers or other interactive blocks (chests, furnaces and so on), on your own flying summon (to climb on), and, while sneaking, on your own technique summon (to send it back).
  • With your own release item in hand: the Left/Right arrow keys pick from that release's jutsu bar, and holding right-click charges the selection.

Aim Assist

Aim assist works in Combat Mode only:

  • When your view is already within 3.5 degrees of a visible player or mob between 1.5 and 28 blocks away, the view drifts gently toward it, by at most 0.12 degrees per frame.
  • It never locks on, and any real mouse movement wins.
  • It ignores invisible entities and armour stands, and needs line of sight.
