World Map and Waypoints
The Map
- The world map colours in the terrain around you as you explore (in vanilla map colours) and is saved on your computer, separately for each world or server and each dimension.
- Your map is your own: other players don't see it. Unexplored ground shows as dark ink.
Controls
- Drag to pan, scroll to zoom (0.125 to 8 pixels per block, zooming around the cursor), and right-click to mark.
- The readout shows "You: X Z" or the cursor's "X Z".
- Hint: "Drag to pan · Scroll to zoom · Right-click to mark".
Buttons
- + / -: zoom in or out.
- Centre: centres the map on you.
- + Here: adds a waypoint where you stand.
- + Coords: type X, Y and Z (leave Y blank to use the ground there), then "Create" or "Cancel".
- Go to Last Death / Stop (Last Death): a red cross marks where you last died, labelled "Last Death" with its coordinates. Click it to navigate there.
Right-clicking on the map offers "Add waypoint here" or "Navigate here" (a temporary marker).
Waypoints
- The waypoints list in the sidebar: click to select one, and click again to show it on the map.
- For the selected waypoint: Navigate / Stop Navigating, Rename (up to 32 characters), Colour (cycles through 6 colours: red, gold, sky blue, green, violet and paper white), Delete, and Share (to your squad).
- New waypoints are named "Waypoint N".
- Empty list text: "No waypoints here yet. Right-click the map, or add one where you stand."
- Waypoints are personal, saved by your own game per world or server, and only shown in their own dimension.
- Squadmates and squad-shared waypoints also appear on the map ("<name> (shared by <player>)").
- Navigating sets the compass and beacon (see Combat HUD).
