Levels and XP
Every shinobi starts at level 1 as an Academy Student. Levels go all the way to 1000, but level 100 is where your character stops growing from levels: by then you have every Skill Point you can use and your full 50,000 chakra. Jutsu Points keep coming after 100.
XP comes from four sources, and each one has its own colour on the XP bar:
- Missions (yellow)
- PvE (lime green)
- Chakra (cyan)
- PvP (dark red)
Below Level 10: Any XP Counts
Until you reach level 10, every point of XP you earn counts toward the whole level, whatever its source. There are no shares yet.
The XP Details screen puts it this way: "Until level 10, any XP counts toward the whole level: the shares (and missions) begin there."
From Level 10: The Four Shares
From level 10 onward, the XP for each level is split into four shares:
- Missions: 40%
- PvE: 25%
- Chakra: 20%
- PvP: 15%
Each source can only fill its own share. XP earned past a full share is wasted for that level, and you only level up when all four shares are full. In other words, you cannot level from mob kills alone: you have to do missions, fight creatures, meditate and fight other players.
The in-game explanation reads: "Each source fills only its own share. The level comes when all four are full."
The Missions, PvE and Chakra shares are each the level's XP times their percentage, rounded. PvP gets whatever is left over, so the four shares always add up exactly to the level's XP.
The XP Curve
The XP needed to go from level L to level L+1 is 150 x L^0.8, rounded, and never less than 1. Levels 10 to 25 take about two and a half to three hours of play: about one mission a level, with the other shares filled alongside.
At level 1000 there is no next level: the bar shows full gold and reads "Max level".
Sample values (XP for that level, the share split where it applies, and total XP from level 1):
- Level 1 to 2: 150 XP (no shares). Total 150.
- Level 2 to 3: 261. Total 411.
- Level 3 to 4: 361. Total 772.
- Level 4 to 5: 455. Total 1,227.
- Level 5 to 6: 544. Total 1,771.
- Level 9 to 10: 870. Reaching level 10 takes 4,773 XP in total.
- Level 10 to 11: 946 (Missions 378 / PvE 236 / Chakra 189 / PvP 143).
- Level 15: 1,309 (524 / 327 / 262 / 196).
- Level 20: 1,648 (659 / 412 / 330 / 247).
- Level 25: 1,970 (788 / 492 / 394 / 296).
- Level 30: 2,279.
- Level 40: 2,869.
- Level 50: 3,430 (1,372 / 858 / 686 / 514).

- Level 80: 4,995.
- Level 90: 5,489.
- Level 99 to 100: 5,924 (2,370 / 1,481 / 1,185 / 888).
- Total XP from level 1 to level 100: 328,756.
- Past 100: level 100 to 101 needs 5,972; level 200 needs 10,397; level 500 needs 21,640; level 999 to 1000 needs 37,648.
How XP Is Added
- At level 1000: no XP is added.
- Below level 10: XP fills the current level and carries over into the next ones, levelling you up as many times as it covers, but it stops at level 10. Any XP left over at the moment you reach level 10 is not carried into level 10.
- Level 10 and up: only the room left in that source's share counts, and the rest is lost. You level up the moment all four shares are full, and all four counters then reset to 0 for the new level. Nothing carries over between these levels.
When you earn XP, a message appears above the hotbar: "+N <Source> XP" in grey, with the source name in its colour. If that source's share is already full, you see "<Source> XP is full for this level" in dark grey instead.
The XP bar draws each source's block in the order that source first earned XP during the current level.
XP Boost
Server staff can start a server-wide XP Boost (x1.5 or x2.5, for 30 minutes or an hour). While it runs, all XP from every source is multiplied, and a small gold badge in the top-left corner shows "1.5x XP" and the time left. A boost fills each share faster, but a full share is still full.
- When it starts: "A server-wide 1.5x XP Boost is live! (30m)"
- Five minutes before the end: "The 1.5x XP Boost ends in 5 minutes!"
- When it ends: "The XP boost has ended."
- If you join while one is running, you are told how long is left.
Where XP Is Shown
- Combat HUD: your shinobi level and an XP line under the hotbar tray, split into the four colours.
- Shinobi Menu: the Level element and the XP bar in the top bar. The Record page shows Level, "XP a / b XP", the four-colour bar, "N% of the level", and a link "XP Details >".
The XP Details Screen
Open it from the "XP Details >" link on the Record page. Press Esc or click outside the box to close it and return to the menu. It shows:
- The title "Level L -> L+1" (or "Level L (max)").
- The whole bar with "xp / needed XP".
- The rule text for your level (the shared-level version or the any-XP version).
- One row per source: a colour square, its name, "40% of each level" (or "(no cap yet)" below level 10), "have / cap (percent)" or "Full", a small bar, and a hint on how to earn it.
- A footer: "Level L+2 will need X XP (Y more than this one)." and "Esc to close".
