Reading Dojutsu and Beast Damage Numbers

The pages on eyes, Susanoo, tailed beasts, summons and transformations quote a lot of damage values. A few rules apply to all of them, so it is worth reading this page first.

The Damage Scale

  • Technique damage values are written on an "old scale". Kageborne multiplies all of its own damage (jutsu, NPCs, summons, clones and thrown weapons) by 5, and no single hit can deal more than 250.
  • A shinobi's health runs from vanilla Minecraft's 20 up to 500 with Medical maxed. Max health from armour adds on top of that.
  • So a technique listed as "10 damage" deals about 50 health in game.

The Per-cast Damage Budget

  • Nature-release jutsu also have a per-cast damage budget: a cap on how much one cast can deal to one target across all of its hits. The budget rises with charge and mastery.
  • The numbers on these pages are the per-hit values, before that cap is applied.

Paralysis and Binding on Players

  • On players, paralysis and binding from a single hit never last more than 2 seconds, however long the technique asks for.
  • Creatures take the full duration.
