The Hidden Villages

Every shinobi in Kageborne belongs to a Hidden Village, or to none at all as a rogue ninja. Your village decides who gives you missions, who your allies are, and how your kills affect your honor.

How Damage Numbers Work in This Guide

Everything Kageborne deals (jutsu, kunai and shuriken, NPC blows, summons, clones) is multiplied by 5 and capped at 250 per single hit. A shinobi's health grows from vanilla's 20 up to 500 with Medical maxed, and the max health on armour set pieces is added on top of that. When this guide says "12 (60 actual)", the first figure is the base value and the second is what actually lands.

The Villages

Six villages are open to join: the Hidden Leaf, Sand, Mist, Cloud, Stone and Rain. A seventh, the Hidden Sound, led by Orochimaru the Otokage, is coming in a future update, along with its gear, its rogues, its medic and its 30 missions.

Each village's identity, as shown on the village picker, the Village page and badges:

  • Hidden Leaf: leader title Hokage; symbol 木; green. Kage NPC: "Tsunade, Fifth Hokage".
  • Hidden Sand: Kazekage; 砂; sand gold. Kage NPC: "Gaara, Fifth Kazekage".
  • Hidden Mist: Mizukage; 霧; pale blue. Kage NPC: "Mei Terumi, Fifth Mizukage".
  • Hidden Cloud: Raikage; 雲; yellow. Kage NPC: "A, Fourth Raikage".
  • Hidden Stone: Tsuchikage; 岩; stone brown. Kage NPC: "Onoki, Third Tsuchikage".
  • Hidden Rain: Amekage; 雨; slate blue. Kage NPC: "Pain, Leader of the Rain".
  • Hidden Sound (coming in a future update): Otokage; 音; purple. Kage NPC: "Orochimaru, Otokage".

Village Locations

The villages are built on the Kageborne server map, and their Kage, medics and chakra engineers are placed there by the server staff. The village centres in the overworld are:

  • Leaf: x=-284, y=37, z=-1798
  • Sand: x=-2521, y=37, z=1130
  • Cloud: x=2350, y=65, z=-5264
  • Mist: x=4024, y=53, z=-1156
  • Stone: x=-1946, y=38, z=-3664
  • Rain: x=-1794, y=43, z=-1088

These centres also decide where roaming village ninjas appear (see Roaming Village Ninjas).

Getting Around: Warps and Spawn

  • /kageborne warp <village> takes you to your own village's warp point, once the server's staff have set one ("The <village> warp hasn't been set yet" until then). You can only warp to the village you belong to ("Only shinobi of the <village> can warp there."), so rogues have no village warp.
  • /kageborne spawn takes anyone back to the server spawn.
  • Neither works from inside a trial or the Kamui dimension ("You can't warp out of here.").

Your Village Record

Your village record is saved with your character and kept when you die. It holds:

  • Village: your village, or none if you are a rogue ninja.
  • Honor: starts at 100, and always stays between -1000 and +1000.
  • Money (ryo): starts at 0.

Joining Your First Village

  • The first time you join the server, the Village Picker opens. It shows every open village as a card with its symbol and colour, its leader's title and how many shinobi it currently has. Click a card, then Join.
  • The picker cannot be closed with Escape and cannot be skipped: every new player chooses a village. There is no "start as a rogue" option; you only become a rogue by leaving a village.
  • Once you choose, the chat says "You are now a shinobi of the <village>." This free first choice happens only once per player.

Leaving a Village

  • The Village page has a "Leave Village" button. It asks for confirmation: the first click changes it to "Click again: go rogue" for 3 seconds, and clicking again within that time leaves.
  • When you leave:
    • You are removed from the member list, and from the Kage seat or the advisor list if you held one. Leaving as Kage empties the seat.
    • You lose 20 honor.
    • You are written into the village's Bingo Book with the day you left.
    • You see "You abandoned the <village>. You are a rogue ninja now, and the Bingo Book knows your name." Every online member of the village you left sees "<name> has abandoned the <village>."
  • As a rogue ninja your rank shows as "Rogue Ninja". The Village page explains: "A rogue ninja belongs to no village. A village's Kage or its advisors can invite you to join."
  • Rogues cannot take PvE or PvP missions, because missions are only given by your own village's Kage. If a village-less player completes a mission anyway (for example as a squadmate of a member), they receive the full ryo with no tax.

Invites

  • Only a village's Kage or its advisors can invite. On the Village page they get an "Invite" button that opens a searchable list of every rogue ninja currently online (only rogues who have already made their first village choice are listed).
  • Clicking "Invite" next to a name sends the invite. The inviter sees "Invited <name>. They have 15 seconds to answer."
  • The invited rogue sees an invite card with the village's badge: "<inviter> invites you to the <village>" and "Press Y to join · N to decline". The invite lasts exactly 15 seconds, and also vanishes if the player logs out.
  • Accept (Y): they join, see "You are now a shinobi of the <village>", and every other online member sees "<name> has joined the <village>." If the player is listed in the Bingo Book, their entry is updated to show the village they are in now.
  • Decline (N): the inviter is told "<name> declined your invitation."
  • Only rogues can be invited; anyone else gives "<name> already belongs to a village". A player who is neither Kage nor advisor gets "Only the Kage and the village advisors can invite."
