Missions Overview

How Missions Work

  • Missions are given by the village Kage NPCs. Right-click your own village's Kage to open the Mission Board.
  • A Kage only serves their own village's shinobi. Anyone else is turned away with a "no" sound and the Kage's line: "<Kage>: "I give missions only to shinobi of the <village>. You are not one of us.""
  • You can have one mission at a time, PvE or PvP. Taking a new one (including a PvP hunt) gives up the one under way; the board labels the button "Take Instead" and notes "(gives up the one under way)".
  • There are 180 missions in the game: 6 villages x (10 Genin + 10 Chunin + 10 Jonin). The Hidden Sound's 30 missions arrive with the village in a future update.

Rewards

Rewards are fixed by rank, the same for every mission of that rank:

  • Genin missions: 800 Missions XP, 500 ryo.
  • Chunin missions: 2,500 Missions XP, 1,500 ryo.
  • Jonin missions: 6,000 Missions XP, 4,000 ryo.

Missions XP is one of the four XP segments of levelling (from level 10 onward, each level's XP is 40% Missions, 25% PvE, 20% Chakra and 15% PvP). Mission XP beyond the Missions share of your current level is wasted; the reward message shows the XP that actually counted.

The Mission Board

  • Header: the Kage's name, "Leader of <village>", and "Under way: <mission>" if one is active.
  • Tabs on the left:
    • PvE Missions ("Village assignments").
    • PvP Missions ("Hunt enemy shinobi"): the bounty hunts.
    • Server-Wide ("The whole server"): missions the whole server takes on together, coming in a future update.
  • PvE rank tabs: Genin, Chunin and Jonin across the top. A rank above yours shows a lock icon; hovering explains "<Rank> missions need that rank (Genin by passing the Genin Exam; Chunin and Jonin are granted)". The board opens on the highest rank you may take.
  • Mission list: each row shows its number (1-10), its name and a badge: "Under way" in gold for the active one, or a red cooldown clock "m:ss" if it is cooling down.
  • Details panel: name, brief, required rank ("Needs <rank> rank"), "+X Missions XP", "+Y ryo" and "Time: m:ss + travel" (the work time limit).
  • Buttons: "Accept" ("Take Instead" if another mission is active, "Abandon" on the active one, "Ready in m:ss" while cooling down), and "Random <rank> Mission", which picks a random mission of that rank that is not on cooldown and not the one under way.

Rank Requirements

Missions are gated by your ninja rank, not your level. Academy Students cannot take any PvE mission. Genin missions need at least Genin rank, Chunin missions need Chunin and Jonin missions need Jonin; Elite Jonin can take everything.

Missions by Village

Each open village has 10 Genin, 10 Chunin and 10 Jonin missions, and each village's themes follow its land:

  • Leaf: forests, bandits and monks.
  • Mist: seas, pirates, sharks and serpents.
  • Sand: deserts, scorpions, sand worms, mummies and the Pharaoh.
  • Stone: mountains, golems and mines.
  • Cloud: storms, lightning beasts and thunderbirds.
  • Rain: swamps, smog and Pain's paths.
