Release Items

What They Are

  • Every nature you awaken gives you that nature's release item, named "<Nature> Release (<owner>)" in the nature's colour, for example "Fire Release (Tito)".
  • There is one per nature: the five basic natures, Yin, Yang, the kekkei genkai (Ice, Wood, Lava, Boil, Magnet, Storm, Scorch, Explosion, Blaze, Swift, Steel, Dark, Typhoon, Crystal, Mud), Dust, the hiden releases (Paper, Ink, Sealing, Bug, Inuzuka, Shadow, Bone), plus Ninjutsu, Summoning and Jinchuriki. Yin-Yang Release is coming in a future update.

Bound to You

  • A release item cannot be thrown away: it goes straight back to you ("A release is part of you: it can't be thrown away."). It cannot be put up in trades.
  • It does not drop when you die.
  • Only its owner can pick it up from the ground, and only its owner can use it ("<release> isn't yours: only its owner can use it.").
  • When a release is given to you and your inventory is full, it waits on the ground at your feet ("Your inventory is full: your <release> is on the ground at your feet. Only you can pick it up."). A release lying on the ground never despawns.

Lost Releases Come Back

  • A release that is really lost is given back to you: one destroyed on the ground (burnt in lava or fire, fallen into the void, or despawned) or lost when you died.
  • It comes back the next time you join or respawn, or at once if you are online: into your inventory, or, if that is full, onto the ground at your feet, where only you can pick it up and it never despawns.
  • A release you put away yourself (in a chest, for example) is not lost: it stays where you left it, and you have to fetch it.

Using a Release Item

  • Hold it to bring up its jutsu bar, showing the jutsu of that nature's tree you have learned. Next/Previous Jutsu choose one.
  • Press or hold use to cast the selected jutsu, exactly as it works from your loadout bar: a charged jutsu weaves its hand signs and then a number under the crosshair climbs to the jutsu's cap (let go to release it, or let go during the signs to cancel), while others cast on the press or are held.
  • You can keep running while you charge. Chakra gathers visibly at your hands, thicker as the charge grows.
