Jinchuriki Forms and Control
The Four Forms
Every beast has the same four forms, each at as many tails as the beast allows:
- Initial cloak: tails 1 to 3.
- Version 2: tails 4 and 5.
- Bone form: tails 6 to 8.
- Full tailed beast: the beast itself (its last tail).
A beast with fewer tails still has all four forms, each at its own tail count.
Each Beast's Stages
In order:
- Shukaku (1 tail): Initial 1, Version 2 at 1, Bone at 1, Full (4 stages).
- Matatabi (2): Initial 1, Initial 2, Version 2 at 2, Bone at 2, Full (5).
- Isobu (3): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 3, Bone at 3, Full (6).
- Son Goku (4): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 4, Bone at 4, Full (6).
- Kokuo (5): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 4 and 5, Bone at 5, Full (7).
- Saiken (6): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 4 and 5, Bone at 5, Full (7).
- Chomei (7): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 4 and 5, Bone at 6, Full (7).
- Gyuki (8): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 4 and 5, Bone at 6 and 7, Full (8).
- Kurama (9): Initial 1-3, Version 2 at 4 and 5, Bone at 6, 7 and 8, Full (9).
Stage names in game: "Initial Form · N Tails", "Version 2 · N Tails", "Bone Form · N Tails" and "Full Tailed Beast".
Berserk Breakouts
- Before any form is yours (and again whenever the next stage begins a new form, once the current one is fully controlled), the beast can break out by itself.
- Whenever you are at 25% of max health or less and not in a mode, the beast may break out. It can only try at most once every 5 minutes.
- A breakout is berserk: you are thrown into the next stage for 35 seconds, out of your control. Your health is raised to at least 60% ("the beast's chakra floods the body: wounds close").
- While berserk you can't cast jutsu, can't leave the mode ("The beast's chakra won't obey you!") and can't change stage.
- Every second, the beast's chakra lashes out at everything within 2.5 + 0.4 x stage blocks, friend or foe, for 2 + 1.2 x stage force damage (except whoever you are riding or who is riding you), with black-red flame particles and roars.
- Message: "<beast> breaks loose! (n/4)".
- After 4 breakouts the stage is yours: "<stage> is yours now: train to control it".
- Before anything is yours, the Tailed Beast Mode key says: "You can't call on <beast>'s chakra yet. It will break free when you're close to death."
Training Control
- A stage that's yours is at first controlled only for a short while. You train toward 30 seconds of control, then 60 seconds, then 3 minutes, then 5 minutes; past that, full control.
- Each time you enter the stage being trained, it holds for a quarter of what you're training toward (7.5 seconds, 15 seconds, 45 seconds, 75 seconds; at least 1 second), and that time counts toward the goal. Then it slips, and the beast needs 5 to 10 minutes (random) before it can be called on again.
- Reaching each goal: "Your hold on <stage> grows: now training toward X seconds", with a level-up sound.
- Full control: "Full control of <stage>", with a challenge sound. A fully controlled stage lasts as long as your chakra does: it drains 20 (Initial), 35 (Version 2), 55 (Bone) or 80 (Full) chakra every second and ends when chakra runs out.
- Full control also makes the next stage of the same form (one more tail) yours to train at once ("<stage> is yours to train now"). The next FORM needs four breakouts again.
- Ending any mode normally (not while training) gives a 40-second cooldown. Ending tired gives Slowness II and Weakness I for 10 seconds.
Tailed Beast Mode and Stage Keys
- B enters the first stage (always stage 1; you climb from there), or leaves the mode you're in. Refused while on cooldown ("The beast's chakra is recovering: Xs").
- In a mode, Y (Stage Up) and H (Stage Down) step one stage up or down among the stages that are yours ("No higher stage is yours yet" / "Already in the first stage"). Each stage entered uses its own duration: unlimited if fully controlled, a quarter of the training goal if it's the one in training.
- Leaving the full beast for a lower stage takes you out of the beast's body.
- Entering a stage brings smoke, a burst of chakra in the form's colour (orange for Initial, dark red black-flame for Version 2, crimson for Bone), a ring of it across the ground, a ravager roar and a fire-charge sound, and the message "<stage>" (or "Berserk: <stage>").
- Logging out ends the mode; respawning clears it.
What Each Form Gives
Every second in a form, the following apply (with the form level counting 0 for Initial, 1 for Version 2, 2 for Bone and 3 for Full, and tails being the stage's tail count):
- Extra max health: Initial +30%, Version 2 +50%, Bone +75% (multiplying your total max health; the new health is given at once). Full: none, since you fight as the beast with its health. Removed when the mode ends.
- Strength: amplifier = form level + tails / 3 (rounded down), up to 5, so the Strength level is one higher: Initial at 1-2 tails Strength I, Initial at 3 tails Strength II, Version 2 at 4-5 tails Strength III, Bone at 6-8 tails Strength V, and in the full beast up to Strength VI.
- Speed: Initial Speed II, Version 2 Speed III, Bone Speed IV, Full Speed V.
- Resistance: Initial Resistance I, Version 2 Resistance II, Bone Resistance III.
- Regeneration: amplifier = form level, plus 1 at 3 or more tails, up to 3: Initial at 1-2 tails Regeneration I, Initial at 3 tails Regeneration II, Version 2 at 3+ tails Regeneration III, Bone Regeneration IV.
- Jump Boost: Initial Jump Boost II, Version 2 Jump Boost III, Bone Jump Boost IV.
- Fire Resistance.
- Bare-handed (taijutsu) blows: 1.75 + 0.25 x tails times as hard (twice as hard at 1 tail, up to four times at 9). Not in the full beast.
How the Forms Look
- Initial: a translucent, bubbling shroud of orange-red chakra veined with black, chakra fox ears, and one lashing chakra tail for each tail of the stage, deepening in red with each tail.
- Version 2: chakra so dense it's nearly solid: a black-red skin with dark fur-like strokes over the whole body, a red glow at its edges, glowing white eyes and a white grin in a faceless head, pointed ears, thick dark tails, and red and dark bubbles of chakra drifting round it.
- Bone: glossy crimson chakra flesh with a white skeleton forming over it: a fanged, horned skull with glowing eyes, the spine, ribcage, shoulder blades and pelvis, bones down the arms and legs ending in claws, and vertebrae running out along every tail.
- Full: the jinchuriki is hidden inside the beast.
The Jinchuriki Panel
In the beast's section of the Jutsu page: the beast's name and mastered stages as pips. In a mode, it shows the stage and a bar of the beast's chakra running out (pulsing red when berserk); otherwise, mastery progress toward the next stage, or the cooldown.
