Trial Bosses

  • The boss appears at its marked spot in the boss room (or arena), with its adds (extra goons) at the boss room's spawn points, or beside the boss in an arena. Its health is set to the trial's boss health and it targets the nearest party member.
  • A boss bar appears for the whole party: red, divided into 10 notches, showing the boss's name and live health.
  • Each party member sees a title with the boss's name in dark red and the subtitle "The trial's master". The Wither's spawn sound plays.
  • The trial is won only when the boss and all its adds are dead.
  • Health values are Minecraft health points, so a 4,000-health boss has 2,000 hearts.
  • Goons and bosses are Kageborne's shinobi NPCs (or, for the Nine-Tails and the summoning trials, the great beast itself) and fight with the jutsu listed for them in each trial. A goon with no listed jutsu fights with its character's own usual jutsu.
  • Fighting styles: on top of its listed jutsu, every goon and add with a kit of its own also fights in one of three styles, two moves from it: taijutsu (Leaf Whirlwind, Dynamic Entry, Primary Lotus), genjutsu (False Surroundings, Hell Viewing, Temple of Nirvana, Mirror Heaven and Earth Change) or kenjutsu (Silent Killing, Chakra Flow Blade, Crescent Moon Dance, Hidden Mist Blade). So two goons of the same kind can fight quite differently. The entries below say "plus a fighting style each" where this applies.
  • Siphon: every trial foe you kill (by hand, weapon, jutsu or summon) heals you for 15% of your max health, or 50% for the boss, with "Siphon: +<n> health" on your action bar.
  • All trial foes fight for the same side, so they attack the party and never each other. A goon or boss with no special title shows its own character name.
