Bounty Hunts
Bounty hunts are the PvP missions, taken from your Kage's "PvP Missions" tab.
Taking a Hunt
- There is one hunt per rank: "Bounty Hunt: Genin", "Bounty Hunt: Chunin", "Bounty Hunt: Jonin" and "Bounty Hunt: Elite Jonin". You always take the hunt of your own current rank.
- Academy Students cannot take hunts ("Reach Genin first" / "Only Genin and above may take bounty hunts.").
- Possible targets: players online right now who are not you, not in spectator or creative mode, of exactly your rank, and whose village is neither yours nor allied with yours. Rogue players are valid targets. The tab shows "Possible targets online: n", or "No targets online".
The Hunt
- On accepting, a random target is picked. The chat says "Your mark: <name>, of <village or 'no village (a rogue)'>. Defeat them within 20:00." and a title reads "Hunt down <name>".
- The target is warned with a heartbeat sound: "You have been marked: a shinobi of the <hunter's village> is hunting you." They are never told who.
- Tracking: the tracker and compass point to where the target was, updated every 5 seconds.
- Time limit: 20 minutes, counting only while the hunter is online, with warnings at 60 and 30 seconds.
Rewards
The target must die to the hunter (a direct kill or kill credit). Rewards go through the village tax like any mission:
- Genin: 1,200 Missions XP, 800 ryo.
- Chunin: 3,500 Missions XP, 2,500 ryo.
- Jonin: 8,000 Missions XP, 6,000 ryo.
- Elite Jonin: 12,000 Missions XP, 9,000 ryo.
How a Hunt Can End
- Fail: the time runs out, or the hunter is killed by the target ("slain by your target"). The cooldown applies.
- Called off with no cooldown: the target leaves the server ("Your target, <name>, has left. The hunt is called off.").
- Abandoned from the board: the cooldown applies.
- Hunts last only while the server is running; they are not saved over a restart.
