How NPCS Use Jutsu

  • NPCs cast the very same techniques players do, aimed at their target, and the damage counts as theirs: an NPC never hurts itself or its allies, its damage scales with its own power, and victims turn on it.
  • Each NPC fights with a jutsu list. Rogue ninjas roll theirs on spawn by rank:
    • Genin: one nature's basic jutsu.
    • Chunin: one nature's intermediate and advanced jutsu.
    • Jonin: one kekkei genkai up to expert, padded with its component natures' jutsu.
    • ANBU: one kekkei genkai up to master, plus every jutsu of two natures.
  • Each village favours its own nature and its own kekkei genkai (for example the Leaf's ninjas lean to the Sharingan and Byakugan, the Mist's to Ice, Boil and Lava, the Sand's to Magnet, the Stone's to Explosion and Lava). Wood and Dust are rare everywhere.
  • NPCs make hand signs (0.3 s a sign) and stand still through them. Their wait between casts is about 5 to 9 seconds, 0.4 s shorter per tier. Rasengan, Chidori and Rasenshuriken are "hand techniques" formed in the hand and driven into the target at melee range.
  • About 46 jutsu (toggles, stances, self-buffs and anything tied to a player's own progress) are never used by NPCs, for example Flame Bullet, Dragon Fire, Lightning Armour, Mud Wall, Hydrification, Ice Dome, Wood Human, Kan'on, Shadowless Flight, Impervious Armour, Dust Beam and the bone dances.
