Chakra Natures

Every chakra nature has a skill tree whose first node is the nature itself, a DNA item that awakens it, a release item, and an advancement granted on awakening.

The Five Basic Natures

Fire (red-orange), Wind (mint green), Lightning (pale blue), Earth (tan), Water (blue). Injection price 7,500 ryo. Their jutsu always use hand signs. Each has its own large tree (11 to 15 nodes) on the Nature Release map.

The Spirit Natures

  • Yin Release (indigo): "The spiritual energy of the mind and imagination: the root of genjutsu."
  • Yang Release (pale gold): "The physical energy of life and vitality: the root of medical ninjutsu."
  • Yin-Yang Release (light grey): "Spirit and body joined: the power to give form and life." Shown on the map as made of Yin + Yang. Its tree is coming in a future update.

Injection price 10,000 ryo.

Ninjutsu, Summoning and Jinchuriki also work as spirit releases, but have no DNA: Ninjutsu's root is learned free in its own tab; Summoning is awakened by signing a contract; the Jinchuriki release comes from having a tailed beast sealed inside you (its bar shows your beast's tree).

Kekkei Genkai and the Kekkei Tota

Each of these is drawn on the Kekkei Genkai map with the natures it combines:

  • Ice Release = Wind + Water (clan Yuki)
  • Wood Release = Earth + Water (clan Senju)
  • Lava Release = Fire + Earth (clan Kazan)
  • Boil Release = Water + Fire (clan Joki)
  • Magnet Release = Wind + Earth (clan Jiryoku)
  • Storm Release = Lightning + Water (clan Raijin)
  • Scorch Release = Fire + Wind (clan Kagero)
  • Explosion Release = Lightning + Earth (clan Bakuen)
  • Blaze Release = Fire + Yin (no clan: awakens with Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan): "Black flames shaped at will. Only a Sharingan can command them."
  • Swift Release = Wind + Lightning (clan Hayate)
  • Steel Release = Fire + Earth (clan Kotetsu)
  • Dark Release = Yin + Wind (clan Kurayami)
  • Typhoon Release = Wind + Water (clan Tatsumaki)
  • Crystal Release = Lightning + Earth (clan Kisho)
  • Mud Release = Earth + Water (clan Doronuma)
  • Dust Release (kekkei tota) = Fire + Wind + Earth (clan Mugen): "a kekkei tota that reduces anything to dust".

Injection price: 15,000 ryo (kekkei genkai), 30,000 ryo (kekkei tota).

The Hidden Releases

The hidden releases awaken the same way as a kekkei genkai, by DNA: Paper (its own tree), Ink (its own tree), Sealing (the Uzumaki tree), Bug (the Aburame tree), Inuzuka (the Inuzuka tree), Shadow (the Nara clan's Shadow Release tree) and Bone (Shikotsumyaku, the Kaguya tree). Each costs 15,000 ryo to inject.

Kekkei Genkai Need No Prior Natures

"Kekkei genkai DNA carries the bloodline itself, so it needs no earlier natures." You can be injected with, say, Lava Release DNA without having Fire or Earth. The combination links on the map tell the bloodline's story; they are not requirements.
