Shrines and the Trial Altar
What a Shrine Looks Like
Every trial has its own shrine, 15 x 10 x 15 blocks, built in that trial's colours.
- Three stepped stone tiers, each smaller than the one below, with the top tier bordered in an accent block.
- Stairs up the south face, with a torii gate (two posts and two crossbeams with slab tips) over the south steps.
- Lanterns on wall posts at the four corners of the platform.
- In the middle, the Trial Altar on its dais, with two braziers (wall posts topped with lights) on either side.

A themed trial's shrine also has its pity trader standing on the top step behind the altar, facing the stairs.
Where Shrines Stand
Shrines don't appear on their own as the world generates: your server's staff set them up around the world, and a themed trial's shrine comes with its pity trader. Ask on your server where each one stands.
The Trial Altar Block
- Unbreakable (like bedrock), immune to explosions, drops nothing, gives off light level 6, makes stone sounds and cannot be pushed by pistons.
- Remembers which trial it opens.
- An altar with no trial set says "This altar is dormant." and opens nothing.
The Two-Click Offering
- First right-click: the altar tells you what it asks, in grey chat with the trial's name in gold and the cost in yellow, for example: "Trial of the Molten Caldera: needs level 25 and an offering of 3,000 ryo. Right-click again to make the offering and enter with your squad."
- Second right-click on the same altar within 8 seconds: the offering is checked and taken, and the trial begins. After 8 seconds, or on a different altar, a click counts as a new first click.
The checks, in order (only for the player making the offering):
- Cooldown: if you were in this same trial and it ended less than 15 minutes ago, you see "You must wait <n> more minute(s) before this trial again."
- Level: your shinobi level must be at least the trial's level, or you see "You must be level <n> to face this trial."
- Ryo: you must have the ryo, or you see "The offering needs <n> ryo."
- Then the ryo is spent.
If the trial can't be prepared, you see "The trial can't be opened right now." If you are already inside a running trial, clicking an altar does nothing.
