The Chakra Engineer and Ninja Scientist

Two NPCs run the DNA trade. Right click either one (within 8 blocks) to open their window.

The Chakra Engineer

  • Turns 10 chakra nature fragments of one basic nature into a vial of that nature's DNA, free of charge ("The Chakra Engineer made you <X> DNA."; "You need 10 fragments of that nature.").
  • Chakra fragments exist only for the five basic natures (stack 64). They drop from roaming village ninjas of that nature killed by a player (higher ranks drop them more often). Trial reward chests also hold a random basic nature's fragment.
  • Also turns 10 of a boss's pity tokens into that boss's DNA ("That takes 10 pity tokens."). Pity tokens come from trial reward chests. This works only for the DNA trials listed below. The themed armour trials (the Akatsuki Hideout, Rain Tower, Reanimated Hokage, Kage Summit, Uchiha Hideout, Snake's Den, Root, Island Turtle and Training Grounds) have pity tokens too, but theirs buy legendary armour from the pity trader at that trial's shrine (10 tokens a piece), not DNA.
  • Boss DNA by trial: the kekkei genkai trials (Wood, Ice, Lava, Boil, Magnet, Storm, Scorch, Explosion, Blaze, Swift, Steel, Dark, Typhoon, Crystal, Mud, Dust) give their own DNA, as do the Bone, Shadow, Paper, Ink and Inuzuka trials; the Sharingan and Mangekyo trials give Sharingan DNA; Byakugan gives Byakugan DNA; Aburame gives Bug DNA; Uzumaki gives Sealing DNA; Yamanaka gives Yin DNA. The Rinnegan's and the Nine-Tails' trials have no DNA and no token.
  • A trial chest can also hold the boss's own DNA outright, or a random basic nature's DNA.

The Ninja Scientist

  • Injects a DNA vial you carry, for its price in ryo (taken from your village money):
    • Basic nature: 7,500.
    • Spirit nature: 10,000.
    • Kekkei genkai (including hidden releases): 15,000.
    • Kekkei tota: 30,000.
    • Eye DNA: 22,500.
  • The prices are set against mission pay (Genin mission 500, Chunin 1,500, Jonin 4,000): a basic nature is five Chunin missions' worth, a kekkei genkai ten, a kekkei tota twenty.
  • If the injection is refused at the last moment, the ryo is refunded. Refusals: "The injection costs X ryo; you have Y." plus the DNA refusals listed under Awakening Natures and DNA.
